Not surprised. Better to remind him now that a truce is in place, not that I imagine he will follow it.

If he gets angry, we can remind him that he can only blame himself for it. He may not approve of it, but he will obey it, unless he wants to be reminded of the hierarchy the hard way. I will enforce it by any means necessary.
